To avoid the dullness of an institutional design, the we flipped the living room and kitchen, tripling the kitchen to accommodate ten students.

We satisfied that need for stability by anchoring the dining room with wall-to-wall stacked slate. Additionally, the stone added texture and informed the enveloping wall colors: dark slate blue
