Moss Beach Kitchen

2015 NKBA Award for Medium Kitchen Design

With a goal to open a cooking school, our Client faced an outdated, undersized kitchen. To avoid the dullness of an institutional design, the we flipped the living room and kitchen, tripling the kitchen to accommodate ten students. A large island serves as gathering space, prep area, and home office. Columns and open shelves of reclaimed redwood, forged steel brackets, backsplash and refrigerator handles convey Contemporary Rustic design. The open plan is integrated with a wall of waxed Venetian plaster.
