Flavor on the Coast ll

FengShui analysis suggested this former railroad depot located on a busy highway needed repose. We satisfied that need for stability by anchoring the dining room with wall-to-wall stacked slate. Additionally, the stone added texture and informed the enveloping wall colors: dark slate blue and “wine reduction sauce” red. The father of one of the owners, James Grant, was a well-known artist of the Sixties in the Bay Area. He would be happy to know his art graces his son’s restaurant.
