Coastside Kitchen RemodelMy number one suggestion to this couple was to eliminate the header beam dividing the kitchen/dining area from the living room. The reason? Mister Homeowner is 6'-7" tall! As a result of opening up the ceiling, he can stride through the space without having to duck his head to enter the kitchen. What a relief! We updated the room with maple cabinets, flip-up glass-insert upper cabinets, parrot green granite and multi-color glass mosaic backsplash from counter to ceiling. Matching mosaic covers the remodeled fireplace, updated from red brick surround. Carpet and ceramic tile flooring materials were replaced with hardwood floors throughout. |
